The situation
Creators have no credible record that a piece of work is human-made and theirs. The product needed an evidence trail strong enough to support takedowns and disputes, while meeting UK GDPR, handling payments and staying buildable by one person.
What I did
- Scoping. Replaced an early demo with a focused product and a phased roadmap with hard cuts, deferring features that would have widened the regulatory scope.
- Architecture and security. Next.js on AWS behind Cloudflare, secure multipart uploads with server-side hashing, and append-only records enforced at database level.
- Compliance by design. Personal data lives in deletable stores; only hashes and attestations are immutable. ICO registered, and no ID documents stored.
- Payments. Stripe Connect marketplace rails built and held ready until the first creator cohort was proven.
- Governance. Phase plans, a numbered decision log and staged launch waves with legal review gates.
The outcome
The platform is live at trulyimagined.com with sign-up, in-person verification, sealing across three evidence tiers, public portfolios and a creator dashboard. The first creator cohort opened in September 2026.
