The situation
Caledonian Sleeper was transferring to the Scottish Government and appointed partners. Its end-user computing and IT services had to move without disrupting a service that runs overnight, on trains as well as in offices.
What I did
- Discovery and planning. Delivered the discovery and planning phases of the end-user computing and service transition workstreams.
- Partner procurement. Ran the formal RFP for a new IT partner: evaluating vendors, supporting selection and contract negotiation, and handing over discovery and planning material.
- Roadmap. Produced a six-month roadmap covering end-user computing migration, hardware refresh, service transition and Dynamics 365 security roles, across offices, trains and station kiosks.
The outcome
The operator had a selected IT partner and a costed, sequenced plan to carry out the transition.
